Welcome to the Local Buying Program
The Local Buying Program provides opportunities for local small businesses to supply goods and services to all BHP, BMA and BMC operations in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
Delivered in partnership with C-Res – a cost neutral organisation – the Program helps suppliers through, access to work opportunities, appropriate payment terms and support through local C-Res Business Engagement Advisors.
Working with our Queensland and New South Wales operations, the Program provided more than AU$ 135 million of work to local businesses since it first started and last year alone offered more than 5,500 work opportunities to more than 850 small local suppliers. In 2017, we are expanding the Program to Western Australia and South Australia.
Suppliers who employ less than 20 full-time equivalent employees and are operating near one of our operations are encouraged to register for the Program. For more information on eligibility please refer to the relevant regional pages.
