To support their Emergency Response Team (ERT) training, BMA in Peak Downs needed vehicles that could be used in emergency simulations. These vehicles would be rendered unusable after the training and would need to be scrapped. The challenge was to find a cost-effective supplier who could provide vehicles suitable for this purpose. These vehicles would need to be safely transported to the location, used in various emergency scenarios, and then disposed of post-training. This specific request required the right partner who could meet the needs of the training exercises while maintaining economic efficiency.
Through the Local Buying Program, the team at BMA Peak Downs connected with Resurrection Wrecking, a long-time LBP Supplier based in Emerald. Resurrection Wrecking specialises in vehicle dismantling and disposal, making them an ideal candidate for this unique requirement. Resurrection Wrecking was able to source and supply the necessary vehicles, ensuring they were fit for the Emergency Response Team’s training exercises. Importantly, they also handled the safe delivery of the vehicles to the site, adhering to all safety protocols to ensure that the operation was executed smoothly.
Their solution offered both cost-effectiveness and practicality, ensuring that BHP’s ERT could carry out realistic training scenarios with vehicles that could be scrapped immediately after use.
“Our business, Resurrection Wrecking, supplies and transports to and from sites cars for RAR Training as well as recycling all sorts of metals/non ferrous metals and batteries. We have our own tilt tray truck, picking up and delivering vehicles and scrap metal up to 5 tonne. Our yard consists of about 300 vehicles that we sell parts off.
All our staff are locals, we think keeping our jobs in our community is very important for now and the future – this is why the Local Buying Program is important to the local business community.”
