Zancott Knight and Platinum Civil Construction have been jointly awarded a significant contract with BHP over five years, with two Arabana-owned businesses Seamer Civil and Ngurra Civil & Construction engaged as subcontractors. This contract is to provide adhoc civil works.
All four businesses are existing Local Buying Program suppliers, with two of these suppliers, Seamer Civil and Zancott Knight, being engaged through the Local Buying Program portal after being successful in competitive tenders through the Request for Tender functions. Zancott Knight started on small residential work opportunities in Roxby Downs with Seamer Civil when the Local Buying Program first commenced in South Australia.
By using the Program to engage businesses for work, BHP Buyers can identify local suppliers, assess capabilities and developing working relationships, prior to committing to major contracts. The Program provides the opportunity to filter by Traditional Owner and Indigenous businesses, allowing BHP to identify new business possibilities.
“Through the Local Buying Program we have been provided with valuable business development tools, networking opportunities, and continual support in the mining/resource industry. As a developing company, we are extremely grateful for the opportunity and support.”
