BHP were experiencing problems due to very limited access to local panel beating services for light vehicle repairs in Kalgoorlie. This skills shortage often required labour hire arrangements and/or fly in personnel to provide panel beater services to site; often resulting in significant time delays and increased expenditure, meaning projects were being delayed and KPIs were often impacted.
A to Z Autocare is an Indigenous, family owned and operated business in Kalgoorlie, operating for over 25 years. Building on her father’s legacy, Owner, Leslie Passmore, has taken over the helm and is fully dedicated to growing the business. A BHP Buyer reached out to A to Z Autocare to request they register with the Local Buying Program, so they could then be engaged easily to provide services to site.
“We were approached by BHP to ask if we would like to do work on their vehicle, so we were pretty excited about this possibility. The platform is fairly easy to learn, and C-Res are only a phone call away, offering friendly service to help with the process and explain if you don’t understand. We are keen to build upon the work we’ve done for BHP so far and this wouldn’t’ve been a possibility for us, as a small business, without the Local Buying Program” – Lesley Passmore, Owner of A to Z Autocare.
