Continuous improvements to the Local Buying Program portal are vital to meet the evolving needs of our valued buyers and suppliers. Recently, in response to valuable feedback from a BHP Buyer, improvements were made to the purchasing process for Oak Dam.

Previously, navigating the portal without a dedicated plant or delivery address for Oak Dam posed challenges when creating Work Instructions, requiring buyers to manually create Purchase Requisitions in SAP.  Including Oak Dam as a plant option within the portal eliminates the need for manual adjustments and additional delivery information, streamlining the workflow and empowering buyers to focus on other critical aspects of their job.

The improved efficiency should lead to increased Work Instructions and greater engagement opportunities with local businesses. Moreover, suppliers benefit from precise and accurate delivery instructions, minimizing the risk of delays or misplaced goods. By increasing automation and saving valuable time, we create an environment for suppliers to flourish within Olympic Dam operations as a result of increased engagement and collaboration.
