Knowing your way around the Local Buying Program and being familiar with what it allows you to do will make doing your job easier!
Be you a buyer or supplier, being aware of the processes and capacity of the LBP platform will enable you to tap into its potential – and, as such, you will reap the rewards of actively involving yourself.
Recently, it was also announced there would be the inclusion of a high-level introduction and overview of the Local Buying Program embedded into the BHP Learning Management System. Not only is this an accessible and simple means of ensuring BHP Buyers are across every possible local buying opportunity available to them at the time of their inductions or updates, but it also helps keep the Local Buying Program suppliers – our small local businesses – front of mind.
In addition to this, C-Res Business Development Advisor Jessica Cardno and Manager – Business Development John Aurisch, in conjunction with Program Administration team leaders Naomi Hawkins and Sarah Humphries, have been developing a series of six training modules, the first of which were delivered from late September.
“This is a comprehensive and very well-presented pack, the likes of which hasn’t been produced by C-Res for the LBP,” John said.
“The idea is to ensure buyers and suppliers can use the platform like it is second nature – and the enhancements we have been making – and will continue to make, really – will all be touched on through these presentations.
John assured all LBP stakeholders this would never replace the valuable 1:1 training and group sessions which have proven popular with buyers and suppliers over the years.
“This past year, and the need to take things more digital, has really shown us we need to be more diverse in our delivery. The thing is, whether because of COVID-19 or not, some people will get more from the experience of going through a video like this at their own pace, while others relish the 1:1 or in-person interaction.
“At the end of the day, that’s what we are about. Making sure all of our stakeholders can have access to the information they need to better use the program, delivered to them in a way which is compatible with their needs.”
