At C-Res, through the Local Buying Program and the Local Buying Foundation, our team recognises and respects the Traditional Custodians of this land, their continuing culture, and the contribution they make to life in the regions in which we operate.
Our approach to engaging and supporting Indigenous peoples echoes that of BHP’s. This is articulated in the BHP Indigenous Peoples Policy Statement. BHP’s vision is to support the growth of a strong Indigenous business sector across Australia, delivering shared value and sustainable economic outcomes.
BHP’s Reconciliation Plan has been developed in partnership with many representatives from Traditional Owner groups, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, organisations, communities and peak bodies across Australia. It outlines the company’s approach to respectful engagement and agreement-making, cultural understanding, economic and community development, and advocacy to advance national reconciliation and the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
C-Res is committed to supporting BHP throughout this journey, specifically within the Local Buying Program regions. We will drive the growth, diversification and sustainability of small, local Traditional Owner and Indigenous Businesses through our:
- simplified engagement processes,
- support from our local Businesses Development Advisors,
- short payment terms and, most importantly,
- increased visible opportunities for Indigenous Businesses.
Furthermore, C-Res has deliberate processes in place to support this direction, including functionality on the Local Buying Program portal for Indigenous only Request for Quotes and clear identification of Indigenous businesses to BHP end users in the Supplier Directory.
If you are a local Indigenous or Traditional Owner business, please read here to see if you are eligible for the program.
