The 20th Tactic Conference in Port Augusta provided a crucial platform for connecting regional South Australian suppliers with major industries and projects, including BHP’s Copper SA (CuSA) assets. It was a key event for existing and prospective Local Buying Program suppliers to engage with BHP stakeholders and for identifying new local and Indigenous businesses that could qualify for the LBP.
The conference focused on building a stronger, more sustainable supply chain across regional SA by fostering business relationships between large corporations like BHP and local suppliers. This improved pricing, response times, and overall outcomes for both parties by sourcing goods and services locally.
The event strengthened supply chains across SA, enhanced economic and workforce development in local communities, and supported local businesses. The conference also increased opportunities for Upper Spencer Gulf suppliers to engage with BHP, ensuring long-term benefits through local investment and initiatives like the Local Buying Foundation.
“It is clear through the potential projects over the next decade, that the future is very bright for the region with over $20 billion of project spend in the pipeline. This unprecedented investment highlights the need for an event linking major projects and suppliers in South Australia’s supply chain. The Tactic Conference and Tradeshow is South Australia’s premier regional event continuing to be the conduit between suppliers and major projects in regional SA.”
