BHP’s highest priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of their workforce and the communities where they operate. In order to ensure a safe and productive workplace, BHP engages local Indigenous supplier MIH Services to provide industrial cleaning support on site at Mt Arthur Coal. MIH stands for Make it Happen. MIH started out small when first engaged by BHP Mt Arthur and now have grown with the expansion of team members and increase in mobile plant machinery.

By using a local business, BHP are ensured that when they require MIH Services, they are readily available to provide this industrial cleaning support and a range of other services to suit BHP requirements. Through this flexibility to supply and provide immediate support, MIH has built a strong working relationship with BHP. MIH Services have been engaged consistently, with 70% of buyers re-engaging the supplier for the same services since they registered on the Local Buying Program in 2022.
