Leon Namai, a local Indigenous artist, has registered with the Local Buying Program with the support of the Trading Tracks team. His aim is to enrich people with life principles through different mediums of art form, through story telling and sharing life’s journey.
BMA Hay Point has recently been working to incorporate more Indigenous culture into their site, and have recently committed to naming their meeting rooms after animals in Traditional Owner language.
Buyer, Sarah Jefferies, is also working with Leon on artwork for their boats. The artwork will include digital copies of two artworks to be printed in large vinyl prints and displayed on site; a turtle design for display on the tugboat, and black cockatoo design for display in the corridor on site.
Leon can now build on his relationships with the Hay Point team, and his incredible artwork will be seen and celebrated by all.
“Stacey at Marabisda has been instrumental in her help towards my business in meeting deadlines and submitting applications and helping with business workshops. The Local Buying Program has been awesome with helping in the registration process and information regarding steps to finalise applications to be approved on the system.”
