The challenge is often very real for BHP Buyers in Leinster to source goods and services in a short turnaround time. Identifying reliable suppliers and ensuring compliance with stringent site procedures and standards demand time-consuming efforts. Additionally, the remote locations of many mine sites pose logistical hurdles, as transportation and delivery can be hindered by challenging terrain and limited infrastructure.
Access Indigenous was recently engaged to supply lighting towers, power generators, welding and air compressor equipment, and hire of elevated work platforms
The successful delivery of the first Work Instruction for this supplier has led to two more work opportunities. Increased awareness of this Indigenous Supplier has resulted from successful engagements to supply this type of equipment on a large scale to site.
“The Local Buying program has given Access Indigenous a unique opportunity to supply to BHP with machinery and equipment. We have received three work opportunities through the platform, and this has given us some good exposure for Access Indigenous to be considered for supply to other project teams within the Nickel West (NiW) operations. We look forward to partnering with BHP Nickel West in the future and are appreciative of the opportunity thus far.”
