Recently, C-Res have been unable to provide targeted education sessions regularly onsite at Olympic Dam to support buyers with Local Buying Program portal queries and training.
C-Res Business Development Advisor, Jessica Hart, is now visiting Olympic Dam weekly at Mine and Surface End to assist buyers with specific queries, training and support.
Jessica has been working with onsite teams (Mobile Fleet Maintenance, Fixed Plant Maintenance and Surface Maintenance) to educate and raise awareness of the Local Buying Program to increase work opportunities raised through the Program for local and Indigenous suppliers. A key focus is ensuring off contract local and Indigenous spend is being directed through the Local Buying Program to ensure this spend is being measured for its contribution to the local community and towards business capability and capacity building initiatives.
“It was a great opportunity to have Jess attend one of our weekly routines and provide an insight and [demonstrate] ease of use of the C-Res website and Supplier Directory. Supporting the local community and broader region by purchasing locally helps other businesses grow, creates jobs and gives our region confidence of a sustainable future.”
