Wilco delivers solution for local labour shortage

In the face of a challenging labor hire shortage within the local Port Hedland community, BHP were challenged with sourcing suitably qualified trades staff to back fill in work at the North Yard facility at Port Hedland.

The obstacles stemming from the scarcity of available labor could include delayed project timelines, increased workload on existing staff, compromised quality of work, potential safety risks due to understaffing, and higher operational costs associated with sourcing labor from external providers.

Wilco Maintenance Solutions is a 100% Indigenous-owned and operated business, based in Port Hedland and specialising in the delivery of precision  works, mine site labour support and project works to a diverse range of clients across Western Australia. Wilco is creating pathways and opportunities for employment and community engagement for Port Hedland.

We believe we have a real opportunity to create quality relationships with our people; people that are truly passionate about what we do, the region we do it in and the companies, communities and clients we do it for” – Mathew Wilson, Owner of Wilco Maintenance Solutions.
