Welding equipment unprotected against the elements was causing concern on site, as the equipment often stood exposed to direct sunlight and extreme weather conditions. The increased risk of damage, reduced productivity and looming threat of high replacement costs were also causing concern.
At Goonyella Riverside Mine’s Workshop 2, the problem was addressed head-on, with site engaging David Keioskie Auto and Marine Upholstery to craft custom canvas covers for the equipment. His business combines traditional craftsmanship with modern practicality, resulting in the supply of locally crafted, durable, and finely executed products to BHP and the wider mining sector.
“I get asked every week if I’m registered with the Local Buying Program and it is great to be able to say yes I am a supplier. We find C-Res great to deal with, the payments are prompt, and we continue to receive more work opportunities from BHP” said business owner, David Keioskie.
