The Waalitj Hub in Perth offers crucial support to aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs and businesses. Recently the hub hosted a Black Coffee networking event, to bring together a diverse group of Indigenous businesses to discuss ways to bridge gaps and create opportunities for new and emerging Indigenous businesses.
Kelly Cooke, C-Res Indigenous Business Development Principal, attended the event to share information on the Local Buying Program and Local Buying Foundation. By supporting Indigenous businesses and connecting them with new supply opportunities, BHP and C-Res are collectively building a stronger, more inclusive business landscape, bringing about positive change and long-term social value.
“It is great to be engaging with C-Res and the Local Buying Program to support Indigenous Businesses which are trying to engage with big mining companies such as BHP. Great opportunity to hear what the Local Buying Program offers for Indigenous Businesses across the regions where BHP operate.”
