BHP Mt Arthur site has taken steps to improve staff safety measures and reduce travel time by installing a mobile amenities block closer to the pit operations. The amenities blocks were constructed locally in Muswellbrook by Eddies Trailers and Steel, using solar energy to provide lighting and functioning pumps.
The construction of the mobile units has connected BHP to a secure and capable local supplier, fortifying the local supply chain and creating benefits for the local economy.
The engagement has also opened other leads for the supplier to construct similar equipment for other organizations. A win-win situation where the capability and capacity of local suppliers have been improved, safety and comfort on site have been increased, and environmental sustainability has been promoted, all while improving productivity.
“Here at Eddies Trailers and Steel, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality products at affordable prices for customers. It was really great working with BHP and C-Res to construct these trailers.” Brandon Edwards – Owner, Eddies Trailers and Steel.
