Kambalda Concentrator’s Projects and Engineering building refurbishment is well underway with a focus on engaging local businesses through the Local Buying Program. Local charitable organisations and clubs, such as the Kambalda Men’s Shed, have been registered and now commissioned to design and build a custom boardroom table for BHP. The table is a beautiful raw edge Wandoo Timber piece sourced from local bushland and crafted by the Men’s Shed skilled members. This collaboration showcases the power of local buying and Kamblada’s united front to support local mental health initiatives.
This outstanding example of local engagement with a charitable organisation reinforces BHP’s social value priorities, which align with supporting their suppliers who invest in the communities in which they live and work.
“The C-Res team were super helpful to assist with registration with the program and since then we’ve had so many quote requests come through. It’s be great to see other regional Men’s Sheds register for this program. It’s just been awesome to be so easily connected with BHP” said Darryl Tink, Kambalda Men’s Shed.
