Olympic Dam Mining were recently looking for alternate suppliers to replenish consumables being utilised on site, with a clear objective not to source from large out-of-region businesses. Indigenous Supply Australia (ISA) is a registered Indigenous business on BHP’s Local Buying Program, and has an already established relationship with Underground Mining to supply drill bits.
After speaking with the Indigenous Procurement team, ISA visited Olympic Dam to have meetings with the Mining Team to build upon the relationship and discuss future supply opportunities. As a result, they have been engaged to provide a selection of drill casings, shoe bits and risers.
What sets ISA apart is their commitment to reinvesting profits into the education of young Indigenous people and supporting Indigenous health, employment, and sports initiatives. We’re thrilled about this collaboration and can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our community.
Together, BHP and C-Res continue to grow opportunities for Indigenous businesses to supply goods and services to Olympic Dam.
“We are aligned with strategic manufacturers and service providers to deliver value for our clients. We support local communities with a focus on Indigenous health, employment, infrastructure and sport” said Indigenous Supply Australia.
