Regional Counselling Services have been engaged as a vendor previously onsite, and after registering with the Local Buying Program have now been engaged by site via the portal.

Personal problems combined with work stress can contribute to absenteeism, low morale, excessive staff turnover and a possible increase in lost time injuries. For those in need during difficult times, Regional Counselling Services can meet to discuss life issues, provide crisis care response and bereavement counselling, as well as support in arranging funerals and memorial services. By utilizing counselling services, a positive step is being made to enhance the well-being and life satisfaction of workers in a caring and personal way, while contributing to a reduction in work-related losses.

The Local Buying Program has provided the connections between site and local supplier to provide much needed counselling services at the workplace, which will positively impact staff at work and at home. Counsellors make regular on-site visits, establishing a rapport with workers and making them aware of services available. RCS Counsellors serve as a source of support and counsel to miners and their families, networking with other service providers, to fulfil the Mining Code requirements.
