Mt Arthur Coal recently acknowledged and celebrated a special 35 Years of Service milestone. Newly registered local Indigenous business, The Petal Folk, were engaged via BHP’s Local Buying Program to supply a special gift and deliver to site.
The newly updated Supplier Directory, available to BHP Buyers registered on the Local Buying Program, helps site investigate local business capability and capacity. When researching small businesses available to provide the milestone gift, local Muswellbrook florist, The Petal Folk, was a clear stand out. Their team were very helpful, and the floral creations looked fantastic. Ultimately, they received their first Work Instruction through the Local Buying Program portal and the transaction was completed seamlessly. This is a great example the diversity of engagement between Mt Arthur Coal Buyers and small local businesses; supply opportunities varying from earthworks and maintenance through to catering and flower arrangements. Now that the business is visible to other buyers on site, the Petal Folk are looking forward to more opportunities in the future to work with BHP through the Local Buying Program.
“We truly appreciate your support and look forward to brightening people days designing your floral arrangements.” Callie and Jel – Owners, The Petal Folk.
