Mt Arthur Coal required two mine spec 4 X 4 hire vehicles on site for a medium-term hire. Previously, there has been no opportunity for Mt Arthur Coal to source hire vehicles locally through the Local Buying Program (LBP) portal. Sergate Fleet Hire, a newly registered supplier, was sourced for the work. This small local business has demonstrated capacity and long-standing capability with 15 years of experience in vehicle hire – specialising in commercial mine spec vehicles.
The Local Buying Program facilitated a local procurement solution for site, with the supplier being awarded two medium-term vehicle hires and site gaining local access to a much-needed service. The BHP Buyer utilised the online Supplier Directory to investigate the capability of local businesses. The supplier provided excellent information in their Business Summary and Capability Statement, including the relevant detail for the buyer to evaluate.
