Western Australia Highlight Q4 FY22: Innovative small business at forefront of reliable quality service

BHP Mining Area C has been actively identifying opportunities to engage local suppliers to meet site-based construction and engineering needs. Engaging via the Local Buying Program, BHP MAC Infrastructure Services has been able to connect with local supplier INOV8 Services to complete a number of civil works and maintenance projects.

As a result, the supplier has been able to present on site, adapt to site-based timelines and provide consistent service not only to Infrastructure Services department but to several teams at BHP MAC.

The Infrastructure Services team found that the local supplier has an experienced team with a strong safety focus and provides quality service. Being local, the owner of business is able to communicate directly with the BHP Project Manager and ensure the team can deliver on scope while also easily adjusting to any changes in requirements.

There are experienced and capable local suppliers registered with the Local Buying Program capable of providing a wide range of site based services; providing sites with numerous cost and time saving measures.

By registering as a supplier with the Local Buying Program, small local businesses are able to be engaged for site based services traditionally rewarded to multinational organisations.

BHP Mining Area C is actively identifying opportunities to purchase goods and services from small, local businesses through the LBP.

Engaging small, local business produces safe, reliable and flexible service delivery while also supporting the growth of the  wider business community.
