QME successfully highlights supplier innovation, excellence and world-class capabilities

The Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME) has been at the heart of Queensland’s mining sector for over 29 years. Returning to the Mackay Showgrounds this year, QME 2022 was the ultimate showcase of supplier innovation and excellence illustrating the world-class capabilities of Mackay, the Bowen Basin and the broader Central Queensland region.

C-Res, BHP and Indigenous Business Builders worked together at the QME for a common goal, an opportunity to meet many local suppliers and discover local innovation in the area! Over the course of the three days, our Queensland C-Res Business Development Advisor Emma McCullagh assisted and informed hundreds of visitors who were willing to learn about the Local Buying Program.

We really enjoyed the incredible opportunity to engage face to face with hundreds of suppliers and visitors, and learnt a lot from discussions with many new contacts. Thanks to the team from BHP and Indigenous Business Builders for sharing the stand with us, your energy and professionalism is inspiring! Together we are achieving some fantastic outcomes for small businesses in our regional communities. It was fantastic to see Brendan sharing his knowledge and discussing how Trading Tracks is helping Traditional Owner businesses connect with BHP and other major companies. As a result of three full days of networking, QME has given us a significant increase in engagement between small, local and Indigenous businesses and a renewed enthusiasm to connect local businesses with opportunities to supply goods and services to BHP.
