SA: Candles and conversation mark International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was celebrated by the highly anticipated annual Roxby Downs Women’s Network event. This year, the event was held at the Bowls Club, including barefoot bowling, live music, champagne on arrival and a decadent gourmet grazing table by the talented Bree Boehm and LBP supplier, ‘They See Me Grazing’.

Speeches were made by key local businesswomen, discussing what it means to be a woman in business and in our community today. This was followed by the traditional candle lighting ceremony, where seven candles representing seven key topics were lit by a worthy representative. This ceremony held many emotions for the women present; joy, sadness, pride, empathy, determination and passion as all attending were able to reflect on the journey of women over history.

C-Res, as part of the Roxby Business Forum, was proud to support this event by presenting awards to two women in small business who have made significant contributions to the local business community.
