After the successful Meet the Buyer event at BHP Olympic Dam, the number of Work Instructions (work packages) released to eligible suppliers has increased by 60%. The awareness and visibility of the Local Buying Program that these kinds of events create is evident with these results.

Local Business Development Advisor Jessica Cardno said it was rewarding to see the LBP’s intent in action.

“With increased business and engagement of small businesses in our region, this in turn has had a direct impact on our community as a whole,” Jess said.

“With two new staff members on the ground in Roxby Downs / Olympic Dam – myself included – the team in South Australia has been working to ensure that this kind of growth continues.

“Our job is to deliver continued support and engagement to all LBP stakeholders throughout in the Roxby Downs, Far Northern and Upper Spencer Gulf regions.”
