For the first time since 2019, Meet the Buyer returned to Roxby Downs, bringing together local businesses, BHP representatives and industry partners to strengthen relationships and create new opportunities for suppliers in the region.
Hosted by C-Res in partnership with BHP and Tactic, the event provided a valuable opportunity for businesses to connect directly with key decision-makers, learn more about upcoming opportunities and gain a better understanding of procurement processes and expectations.
Representatives from BHP travelled from Adelaide and Olympic Dam to meet with local suppliers and discuss current and future opportunities across the operation. The event also brought suppliers together with industry partners, creating an environment that encouraged collaboration, networking and knowledge sharing.
C-Res General Manager John Aurisch said the event highlighted the value of bringing industry and local businesses together face-to-face.
“Meet the Buyer is about creating meaningful connections and opening the door to future opportunities. It was fantastic to see such strong engagement from local businesses and to work alongside BHP, Tactic and SA Trading Tracks to support supplier capability and participation in the region.”
Throughout the day, attendees participated in one-on-one conversations with buyers and project representatives, providing a platform to showcase their capabilities, ask questions and better understand how to position themselves for future work.
The return of Meet the Buyer reflects a shared commitment to supporting local businesses and strengthening regional supply chains. By creating opportunities for direct engagement, the event helps suppliers build relationships, increase visibility and gain practical insights that can support long-term business growth.
C-Res thanks BHP, Tactic and SA Trading Tracks for their collaboration in delivering the event and all businesses that attended and contributed to its success.
As economic opportunities continue to grow across the region, initiatives such as Meet the Buyer remain an important way of ensuring local businesses are connected, informed and ready to participate.
